Have you ever had a doctor’s appointment and you couldn’t make it and YOU were charged a cancelation fee? Have you ever had a call from your doctor’s office to RESCHEDULE your appointment that you made weeks in advance because the doctor’s schedule changed? Better yet have you ever had a doctor’s appointment and you waited a VERY long time to be seen? You arrived 15 minutes before your appointment and you wait an additional 45 minutes after your appointment time only to find out from the receptionist that the doctor is in surgery and not even on the premises. How did that make you feel? Were you angry or annoyed? Did you feel like you should be paid for your time being wasted? Did you feel like they didn’t value your time?
Now let’s talk about the value of your time. How many times have you wasted valuable time? Do you use all the time given to you wisely? For example, while you are waiting to be seen at the doctor’s office do you use that time to read a book, write your to-do list, work on something for your business, do research, etc. OR do you spend that time watching TV in the waiting area, playing of your smartphone, doing nothing, and/or becoming angry because you have been waiting for a long time? If you use the waiting room time to be productive it is not wasted time.
Time is defined as the thing that is measured as seconds, minutes, hours, days, years, etc. or it is a measureable period during which an action, process, or condition exists or continues. Are you using and planning your time wisely? Are you making the best of those moments when you are awake? Are you be proactive and productive? We are all given the same 24 hours each day but it all boils down to how we decide to use that time. All time is valuable! You need time to get the proper amount of rest, you need the right amount of time to bake a cake, you need a set amount of time to travel to and from work daily.
Remember time waits for no man/woman so don’t take it for granted. Live each day to the fullest and like it’s your last day. Use your time to turn your dreams into goals. Prepare an action plan and schedule time slots to work on your plan in small chunks. A lot can be accomplished in a focused 15 minute interval of time. So the next time you opt to just sit on the couch and watch TV remember that you can’t get that time back to grow and develop yourself or to help someone else. While folding the laundry listen to a audio book or an inspirational message. Recite positive affirmations to yourself while exercising, cleaning, grocery shopping, or driving.
What time is it for YOU? Is it time to GROW or is it time to SHRINK? Is it time to REST or is it time to SEIZE the day and be about your life! Set big, remarkable goals and use your time to the fullest to achieve your goals. What are you waiting for? You were created to be an amazing, awesome, and a high achiever. The time is NOW!
